So i was just wondering how much did it approximately cost you for just the tiling--(the walk-in shower and tiling for the floors)
btw the bathroom looks great :)

Re: Powder Bath Love

This is some great work.

Re: Ordinary Electrical …not so ordinary!

Can you please tell me who makes the glass pendants featured in the picture above? Grease doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Re: Powder Bath Love

It's beautiful!
ETA Lo and behold, you're in Pensacola!!!!

Re: Powder Bath Love

It is simple and very elegant, it's like a bathroom for a hotel or a very nice restaurant. Why is it called a Powder Bath and are those lighting fixtures too dim for a bathroom?

Re: Who is this woman?

I'm not your mother or your sister and I'm quite impressed too - an informative and genuinely interesting blog and I only found you from a link to the Neptune wind bath!

Re: Powder Bath Love

GORGEOUS! Love the grand details in a small space.

Re: The hunt for Barbie: My birthday is approaching.

very beatifull and atttractive

Re: Architects and their pretty pictures!

Great post Cheryl. I was interviewed by Kitchen & Bath Design News a few years back on an article featuring “When incorporating Universal Design, I typically begin by analyzing how my client likes to work in the kitchen: considering appliances needs, material selections, counter surface needs and prioritized storage needs.
After we establish everything the customer wants, we then go over the fundamentals of Universal Design, including cabinet configurations, counter space for food prep and clean up. After all of these considerations are made, we often have to break it to the client that their dream island, or 60" pro range, may not be their best choice after considering their space. We have to explain the importance of Universal Design, showing them why the 36" walk aisles or the minimum 42" work aisles are necessary.
Sometimes a simple rearrangement of two appliances can open up a whole world of possibilities, so designers have to be on their toes and think outside the box, so to speak.”
Dan Whalen, Senior Designer @ John's Appliance City

Daytona Beach, FL

Re: Closet Design: Not appreciated and so important!

I love closets. I've struggled selling them, though. It's constantly a "later" issue for them (not as sexy as kitchen/media/built-ins, FP, etc, I suppose) and when we ultimately get to the design, clients are often over-budget and leave a plan they love with a "maybe just a closet rod and divider for now."

I try and prep them, but we do lot's of whole-house remodels and this is usually an afterthought... that will in time affect them every day.

Re: KBIS or KBUST? 5 top K BAD’S!

As far as the Cherry Kitchen goes I agree the flooring and cabinets are too close in color so they are running together. i don't know why the higher counter would be black. I understand the reason for all of the drawers but here we see how it is distracting to the eye with too much of the same thing. The hanging light in the ceiling is something I would not have done. The mural above the cooktop seems to have too many pieces in it and having the backsplash tile the same color as the hood has created the same problem as the floor and the cabinets running together. I am sure the owner loves it. I just think that a designer could have made some different shade variations to make the items pop instead of running together.

Re: KBIS or KBUST? 5 top K BAD’S!

Thanks Brandon, appreciate it! Designers/Dealers are reluctant to leave the showroom for more than a day. On the east coast, it would be nice to hit NYC, Philly, Baltimore, etc.. NYC Architectural Digest show was a huge success and many people traveled from 30 miles+ to see this show because they could drive.

Re: Architects and their pretty pictures!

well and truly said, cheryl. altho i would add: three words—'get me rewrite'.

Re: Bosch, Blanco and Border Collies…

Now I am not easily impressed either to be honest but this partnership is a blinding success.
